Maneuverability, comfort and spin meet some useful power in the Airlow 5 from HEAD. Featuring HEAD innovative CrossBow technology which allows the throat bridge to move independently, the Airlow 5 returns more energy to the ball on every shot - providing more power from all areas of the court. From the baseline our testers were impressed with the zip and spin they were finding on forehands and backhands. The feel from the stringbed is plush and comfortable. HEAD's InteGrip handle system helps dampen racquet shock and vibration and provides a comfortable feel on every shot. At net the Airlow 5 feel light and fast. Our testers found ample bite from the stirngbed to help find the control needed for touch volleys and angles. Deep volleys can be hit with solid pace thanks the lively response from the 109sq. inch headsize. On serve the racquet offers excellent access to pace and spin. Out testers found impressive kick on spin serves and found it easy to serve consistently with this one. To develop this racquet to meet the needs of female athletes, HEAD worked with legendary grand slam champion, Steffi Graf, as well a varied selection of female players. With its solid response from all areas of the court, the Airflow 5 is a great option for intermediate singles and doubles players.
